The Clyde Heritage League had planned to name the new curator for the Clyde Museum at its annual meeting last Thursday evening. Those plans fell through though, after the person tabbed to replace Brenda Stultz as the curator resigned before they could be introduced.
“We had hired a new curator, and they began work in mid-March,” Clyde Heritage League president Sharon Kinnear said. “I received their resignation last Friday due to their taking a full-time position elsewhere. Our curator position is part-time, so while we’re disappointed at the timing, but we understand the decision.”
Kinnear hopes the search for a new curator doesn’t take long.
“We’ve invited another person to accept the position, and now we’re just waiting for their response to the offer,” she said.
The Clyde Museum is currently undergoing a major expansion and renovation project, and Kinnear said the Clyde Heritage League would like to have a new curator in place by the time the museum reopens. She also said the resignation of the curator and the search for a replacement should not interfere with the renovation schedule.
While the organization was unable to introduce the new curator at its annual meeting, last Thursday, there were still a number of other events and presentations that took place.
